Dallas Texas Social Security Disability Attorney

You might expect a social security disability attorney would always counsel Dallas Fort Worth social security disability claimants to hire an attorney - namely, me, Stanley Denman! There are, however, some cases in which I advise the claimant to wait to hire me.

Social Security Attorneys often point to the fact that statisticially social security claimants with a lawyer or representative are approved at a higher rate than claimants who are unrepresented as proof that you do need to hire a lawyer.  As someone well versed in and fascinated by Statistics, this is not the persuasive argument lawyers usually think that it is.

The pool of claimant who are unrepresented are likely folks who in fact have tried to hire a lawyer, and were rejected by attorneys because they felt the claim was not meritorious.  In other words, the unrepresented claimants have a much higher number of claimants who simply don't belong on social security disability.

I agree, however, that in most cases social security disability claimants will be better off with experienced, local attorney reprsentation by an attorney who only handles social security disability.

In answering the question "Should-I-Hire-A-Social-security -Disability-Attorney" question I would like to start with a different question: "What benefit is there to NOT hiring a social security disability attorney?"

I ask this question, because not everyone realizes that at the Denman Law Office (and most other social security attorney firms) claimant pay NOTHING if the attorney does not win benefits for them.

So the only downside to hiring a social security disability attorney is that if you win and get benefits you will have to pay a fee in the amount of 25% of the back benefits.  Given the importance of your social security disability case, this is a small price to pay for the peace of work, the monthly check, and the medicare you will receive with a favorable disability decision.

So I never answered the question: when would I counsel a Dallas Fort Worth social security disability applicant to not hire me, and proceed on their own.  Mainly, when the claimant's condition so obviously qualifies for social security disability (for example, a claimant on kidney dialysis or diagnosed with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease).  In other words, cases in which my collecting a fee would be unjust because I know the claim will be approved.
